Mara Bush Houses – Acacia House and Mara House

Acacia House and Mara House are colonial-style homes in the far north of the Mara Conservation Area in the70,000 acres Mara North Conservancy. Each three bedroom house is designed for families or groups who want the privacy of their own home in the bush. The houses are exclusive use properties, so guests have the flexibility to design their own itinerary.

Bothe Houses overlook the popular Ol Chorro waterhole. The two houses share a pool and the barbecue areas are ideal for sundowners or long lunches.

Each house has three bedrooms - Mara House has three en suites, while Acacia has one en suite, a ground floor bedroom with a shared bathroom, and an attic room. One house can comfortably accommodate 6 people. In each house, there is a full team, including a chef, house manager, and your own private guide.

In Mara Bush Houses, you will have your own private vehicle, so you can decide exactly when you want to go out on safari and for how long. Game drives are suitable very early in the morning or late in the afternoon, when animals are more active. Guests can choose to have breakfast and lunch in the house or carry it with them and enjoy out in the bush. The second game drive usually departs at about 4pm.

The Mara Bush Houses are within driving distance of the Great Migration herds. The migration consists of around 2 million wildebeest, zebra and antelope following the rains through Serengeti and Masai Mara. The nearby Lemek Hills are known as an important haven for wild dog. Birdwatchers can spot any of the 500 species recorded here.

Game drives are mainly done within the conservancies of Mara North, Ol Chorro and Lemek – an area of about 100,000 acres. Trips into the main Masai Mara National Reserve can be arranged.

Fly camping to nearby sister camp, Naboisho Camp can also be arranged for those who want an exhilarating night spent on the open, game-filled plains.
